Mt. Hapunang Banoi

May 14, 2016

Whenever we want to go on a hiking trip but don’t want to travel as far, the province of Rizal is our go-to place. The town of Montalban , which is just an hour away from Cubao, Quezon City, offers different trails going up different mountains, which form part of the Sierra Madre range.

Last Saturday, we hiked Mt. Hapunang Banoi. Just like Mt. Pamitinan and Mt. Binacayan, the jump-off point is at Brgy. Wawa. Entrance fee is at P25/head, while the services of tour guides are at P500/group. The trail is very challenging and would require climbing sharp rocks. It took us probably three hours to reach the summit (which was definitely worth it) and an hour to get down.

Manila Zoo (Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden)

February 27, 2016

On a lazy Saturday afternoon, we checked out the Manila Zoological and Botanical Garden, which is commonly known as the Manila Zoo. It houses 90 species of over a thousand animals, including Mali, who is a 42-year old elephant, a hippopotamus, a Bengal tiger, a lion, and zebronkeys.

We admit it was kind of sad to see these lonely animals, especially Mali, who we think should be sent to the elephant sanctuary. Surprisingly though, we found the surroundings of the zoo cleaner than what we remember from our childhood days.

Magdalena: White Water Rafting, Cliff Diving, and Water Tubing

July 17, 2015

Not a lot of people know that in the exquisite province of Laguna, there is a site for watersports activities such as white water rafting, cliff diving and water tubing. Magdalena is also known as the Hollywood or the movie capital of the Philippines. The King of Philippine cinema, Fernando Poe Jr. a.k.a. FPJ shot most of his movies there. It is best to experience the activities during the rainy season, when the water is high and the current is stronger.

We do arrange private trips or this. Contact us at couplemeetsworld@gmail.com.
